Bernard Blistène is Honorary Director of the Musée national d’art moderne-Centre Pompidou. He will be inviting friends and family to a series of conferences to discuss artistic creation and personal anecdotes and stories.

Bernard Blistène met Jeff Koons, American artist and sculptor known for his iconic Balloon Dogs, during the exhibition Les Courtiers du désir, held at the Centre Pompidou in 1987. They then met up again at the home of Giancarlo Politi, publisher of the Flash Art magazine, which dedicated its cover and a landmark interview to him. Numerous trips to New York allowed Bernard Blistène to try to understand the personality and work of one of the most singular and enigmatic artists. Years pass, and finally, they collaborated on his retrospective at the Centre Pompidou, between November 2014 and April 2015.

Next conference:
Thursday, December 18, 2025: Bernard Blistène – My Friend Georg Baselitz
