HIGH FIVE!
17.12.2023 → 14.04.2024From December 17th, 2023 to April 14th, 2024, Fondation Opale celebrates its fifth anniversary with a bold participative exhibition entitled HIGH FIVE!
The foundation has challenged 26 figures from the Swiss cultural scene – including artists, writers and collectors, as well as a neuroscientist and a watchmaker – to choose a work of contemporary Australian Indigenous art from Fondation Opale’s collections, by suggesting a “mirror work” that they own, that they have created or that the Foundation could borrow… to kick off this singular project.
HIGH FIVE! features more than 60 Australian Indigenous and international works, ranging in size from a few centimetres to large-scale site-specific installations, in an original scenography designed by Pavillon Trois studio, as the Swiss guests explore the multiplicity of their perceptions of Australian Indigenous art. To complete this dialogue, Fondation Opale called on Daniel Browning, journalist and artist from the Bundjalung and Kullilli communities. The results of these colorful interviews are featured in an eponymous publication accompanying the exhibition.
